Mauser C96

Weapon model of Mauser C96

The M712 Schnellfeuer, or as it is referred to in-game, the Mauser C96, is a machine pistol (automatic pistol) with a low to moderate base capacity (10 rounds), and low damage. Refered to as the Broomhandle, the Mauser is a common Historical weapon. Doing little damage per bullet and having many bullets per clip, it is the glock of the old days.

Trivia

  • The reload animation erroneously has the user reloading the weapon through the tangent sight rather than the breech at the top of the internal magazine.
  • The model of the Mauser C96 seen in-game fires fully-automatically. This capability was not available until introduced by Spanish-made Mauser clones in the late 1920s. It took until 1932 for Mauser to officially produce a version with a reliable automatic system. The era it is used in, 1914 during World War I, was far off from the time the the M712 Schnellfeuer pistol was even developed, so the fact that the gun fires fully-automatically is historically inaccurate.
  • The Russians didn't use the Mauser C96 pistol until after World War I.
  • The Mauser C96 and the DNGr Pistol are the only two sidearms in-game that don't fire semi-automatically. (The DNGr Pistol fires using bursts, the Mauser C96 fires automatically.)
